Mitchell Scholar David Gobaud makes posting jobs easier
Last summer, Mitchell Scholar David Gobaud led the innovative SoftWare Automation and Technology (SWAT) Team in the Executive Office of the President. One of the projects he worked on was creating an open Web standard to help search engines find job postings on the Internet. He drafted the schema.org JobPosting schema and U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra recently announced the launch of the Veterans Job Bank, which uses the new technology.
David thinks this is easily the coolest thing he’s worked on. The great thing about the schema is that now companies can post openings on their own website and have them automatically searchable on Google and other search engines. This is a change from before when the primary way of publicizing job postings was by paying a third-party service to widely distribute job advertisements.
