Mitchell Scholars Class of 2013 arrives in Ireland

September 2012:  Many thanks to those who joined us for the reception at the Little Museum of Dublin.  Special thanks to the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, Pat Breen, and Committee member Eric Byrne, for coming by.  Earlier in the week, I’d had a chance to meet with them in the Oireachtas and the Scholars greatly appreciated their taking the time to come and meet them.  Thank you to DCC, plc and the Doyle Collection for their support of the event.

The following day we spent hiking in Wicklow, in the mountains above Glendalough. The final day we spent the morning at Powerscourt and enjoyed the house and gardens on a sunny day!  Then we travelled to Luggala to spend the afternoon with Garech Browne.  We can’t thank him enough for sharing his home, hospitality and stories with us.  And thank you to Brenda Rawn for arranging our get together and joining us!
