JULIE FEENEY TO PERFORM AT OSCAR WILDE

JULIE FEENEY

January 30, 2012:  Irish singer Julie Feeney will be performing at Oscar Wilde:  Honoring the Irish in Film next month.

Julie Feeney's self-produced album 'Clocks' went straight into the Independent Irish Album Charts at No. 1 and was voted 'Best Album' 2012 in The Irish Times 'Album of the Year' category as voted by the paper’s readers. She released in the album in Ireland by scoring her music for ten different choirs in ten different towns over ten different nights in a row.

'Clocks' has also been nominated for the Choice Music Prize ‘Irish Album of The Year’.  Her 2005 debut album, '13 Songs', won the Choice Music Prize in 2006, which was followed by 'Pages' in 2010, which was also shortlisted for the Irish Album Of The Year prize. She has performed many sold out shows in America, Canada, Ireland, England, France, Italy, Germany and Holland solo; with her own ensemble or with numerous orchestras for which she orchestrated and composed. Her hit song 'Impossibly Beautiful' was recently featured in a major Irish television commercial.

Composer, singer, orchestrator, songwriter and producer Julie combines her “mesmerizing stage presence and eccentric pop genius” (Hot Press) with her unquestionably original sound, and her innovative, avant-garde approach, while rooted in classical music, straddles both the pop and theatrical worlds. For her recent sell-out 10 show run in New York City at IAC, The New York Times concluded, “brainy adventurous songwriter lives within the flamboyant theatricality…with songs that set character studies and philosophical musings in elaborate musical confections, often with long, internally rhymed lines.”

Her first composed opera ‘BIRD' based on Oscar Wilde's 'The Happy Prince" will go into full production in 2013.  www.juliefeeney.com
