The Mitchell Scholars program is a national competitive award sponsored by the US-Ireland Alliance. Named in honor of former U.S. Senator George J. Mitchell's pivotal contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process, the Mitchell is designed to introduce and connect upcoming generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to public service and community.
All applications for the Mitchell Scholars Class of '14 must be submitted electronically through this website. Applicants are encouraged to begin preparing their applications well in advance of the deadline. Supporting documents must be uploaded as part of the online submission. All supporting materials, including references, must be submitted online before the national deadline. No late or incomplete applications will be considered. Finalists must supply hard-copy supporting documents upon request, in advance of finalist weekend, 16 and 17 November.
To create an account, simply fill in the information. An email will be sent to you confirming your registration. Once an account is created, an applicant can save and return to the application to add or amend all responses up until the application is submitted. Each applicant will be notified when the application is complete.
